Learn about the legislative process
You’re a Family Child Care advocate now! Where do you go from here? First off you need to learn about the legislative process. The Federal and State legislatures operate differently. We will focus upon the State Legislature for now. In Kansas, legislative season runs from January through May each year. This is the time in which bills will be presented, voted on, and potentially become laws. This process can feel overwhelming but your Senators and Representatives are in Topeka to work for you.
